Take action

We offer many different avenues for community involvement in conservation in our catchment. As a grassroots organisation ourselves we understand the importance of community action in building catchment resilience in the face of a changing climate. Support our work and become an LCC Member today >

Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community. We hold community planting days, clean up days, plus opportunities to be part of citizen science projects working to establish data and protect biodiversity in our catchment. Sign up to our mailing list to make sure you don’t miss out!

Environmental advocacy

The Leschenault Catchment Council’s key focus is in on-ground restoration works and community engagement.

LCC lacks capacity to engage in political lobbying, conduct research and prepare comment or submissions on specific development proposals or projects that might arise in our catchment.

There are a number of organisations who advocate for the environment within the Leschenault Catchment and we encourage community to access these organisations to achieve collective comments and action on environmental matters. Some organisations you may want to contact include:

Australian Youth Climate Coalition

Birdlife WA

Bunbury Tree Canopy Advocates

Climate Justice Union

Coast Swap - South West and Peel Coastal Management Group

Conservation Council of Western Australia

Dieback Working Group

Environmental Protection Authority

Nannas for Native Forests

WA Coastal and Marine Community Network

WA Landcare Network
